   Nadine Butler

Nadine Butler is an academic pharmacist with over 30 years of experience. She is Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of the Western Cape (UWC). Her academic qualifications include a Medical Science honours degree in epidemiology and biostatistics, a Master’s degree in pharmaceutical microbiology, and a Doctorate in social pharmacy (focussing on direct-to-consumer drug advertising). Her teaching concentrates on the ethical, psychosocial, behavioural and human resource aspects of pharmacy practice and her research areas include pharmacist role expansion, and the pharmacist/practice setting interface. She serves on UWC’s Biomedical Research Ethics committee. She has had extensive involvement with the PSSA (Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences and at branch and national executive level) and SAPC (currently moderator for pharmacist interns’ Continuing Professional Development)
